Barry,

Thanks for posting these lists. My accountability partner and I use a list very similar to the last one. I can testify that the Lord has used this greatly in my life over the past two years or so. I recommend using one!

Charles and Renee,
Thank you both for commenting, and you both named great songs. "Indescribable" would be at the top of my list too, it is such a great way to turn the questions God asked Job in Job 38-42 - what a massive and awe inspiring Q & A (ok, so the A's were rhetorical - lol). In just those four chapters God barely touches the hem of His garment and it is breath taking to me.
Other songs that help me are:
My Glorious – (“God is bigger than …..”)
How great is our God
How great thou Art
Above All
God of Wonders
Glory in the Highest
God you Reign
I Stand in Awe
In Christ Alone
Everlasting God
Mighty to Save
You Reign

I have to admit that your question about which songs inspire us about God's greatness caught my eye before I read the whole piece. I immediately thought of Indescribeable. It's my favorite song and does a wonderful job of making us consider God's awesomeness.

Some other songs to consider...

Glory in the Highest
I Stand in Awe
Made to Worship
You Are God Alone (Not a God)

Thank you Barry for asking us to consider the lyrics we sing and how they magnify our Great God!

I love this song! A great thing to remember to worship in the good and bad... even when it is hard and you really don't want to. Great story behind this song as well.

Thank you for that litle history lesson. I also enjoy some of the new arrangements on our Hymns that are out there today but I find sometimes that certain Hymns are best if we leave them alone. Not to long ago I heard a new version of I Surrender all. The first time I heard it I decided to give it a chance, the second time I listen to it I decided never to listen to that particular version again. It lost something in the revision of the song. Sure it was more now and I know for some of the younger generation it had a beat and was easy for them to get their "praise on" as my daughter would say; but I just felt that the message was lost with the revision and it fell to take us to the heart of worship where we surrender to God our all and nothing is held back were we empty our minds and soul to him and just say yes I give it all to you God my life, my heart, my soul. Lord I surrender all.

"Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone" is one of my absolute favorites! Always moved to tears by it. Looking forward to seeing what God has in store for us on Sunday.

I learned to break the requests up into groupings. In My text messages I can click the link and it opens the whole group so I can read notes too :)

Yes I have tried echoprayer and it is wonderful but found that I do need to do a little adjsuting. My list is to long so it only gives me just a few of the people.
Sorry it took me so long to get here but I finally found your site and I'll tune in daily to see what you have to say.
